To arms in Dixie - Lyrics

I've been listening to a lot of Confederate Civil War songs, maybe it's becuase the reenacting season is upon us!

January Photo Shoot 2015

Yesterday my Grandma did a photo shoot with 6 out of 7 grandkids. My grandma sells civil war style clothes and needed newer picutres for her website. For January it was *amazing* weather! Nice and sunny. We all enjoyed it and enjoyed being with each other. I modeled one of the camp dresses my grandma made me, along with the apron that a good friend (Sarah would call him my gentleman friend ;) ) bought me. The apron pins were a Christmas gift from Sarah herslef and I am *so* happy she thought of them! Enjoy a few of the photos we took! :)

Civil War Weekend 2013

I found some photos from Historic Old Washington State Park's Civil War Weekend 2013. It's crazy how time flies!

"Okay, so how does this work?"

"I seriously wonder why I have to do this."

"Why, hello there Mr. Darcy!"

I know that Mr. Darcy was a character in a Jane Austen book which is set in the Regency Era, but come on ladies! Mr. Darcy is just dashing!

It's Almost Time!!

It is almost time for the reenacting season to start back up!! I'm *so* excited! Saturday we had a civil war dance workshop, and my good friend Sarah and I talked about the reenactments we are going to attend this year! After being back in the dresses and dancing I am ready! I *love* camp life, it's so peaceful and fun. I love it more than modern camping! Hope you all have an amazing Monday!

My Head Is Elsewhere

So with finals coming up I'm starting to think about reenactments more and more. As in it has started to take my mind over. Which is nice and all, but when you start drawing a tent in the middle of class you need help. ;)

Yesterday a friend of mine came by the school after I got off from work study and brought me a little gift he bought. He remembered that I had told him that I needed to make a new apron but did not have the pattern to make the one I wanted. So when he went to a reenactment this past weekend he looked for a pattern. Alas, he could not find one so he thought of another plan. He bought me a new one so I wouldn't have to make one. Isn't that sweet? :) I *just* love it! :) Not only did he bring the cute apron he also met my mom and sister. We all had a good talk, now I think I'm ready to see what my dad thinks of him! :)

I am also loving how my hair turned out today! I normally straighten mine, but today decided to let it do it's curly thing with a little hair mousse, and it actually turned out the way I wanted it to! This hardly *ever* happens!

So in closing with today's post I will leave you with this reenacting meme I found on Facebook the other day. :)

The Search for a Tent

So with reenacting I normally use a tent that our general has. Let me be the first to say it is an amazing tent. While I am grateful he lets me and my dear friend Sarah use it, I think I am ready to buy one of my own. Or at least I am ready to put a little money aside and save up for one. I have been doing a lot of researching on finding "the one." Now "the one" needs to have a few qualities before I think about buying it. Things such as a decent price tag, good amount of room, east to put up (since it will be two women putting it up), and that is about it I believe. I hope that I will be able to find one in preparation for the events of Summer 2015. If anyone can suggest where I might look at, feel free to let me know!
